On April 3rd, 2017, it rained, so we sat in camp all day and played cards. While playing a game called Egyptian Slap Fight (or something like that), we learned that Sam G has extraordinary reaction time. If you ever pick a slap fight with Sam, you must be prepared to lose.
Slapfight Champion, enjoying the view.
On April 4th, 2017, we set out to do Bobcat Canyon. The satellite images made it look like a dud. The final rappel looked cool from the bottom. Fortunately for us, the satellite images were dead wrong.
There were four distinct sections. A skinny section, then an amazing red slot with fins sticking out of the walls, followed by a long swim down a wide hallway, then the final sequence.
All four sections were fantastic! This was one of the most fun days any of us had ever experienced in a canyon. Bobcat was a top shelf, grade A, an absolute gem of a canyon!
Lots of hoots were hollered. Many high fives were exchanged. Nobody in the group will ever forget this day.

Below is our only photo of the long swimming hallway. What is lurking under the water? The imagination runs wild.
Voldemort Crack in the distant background.
Aaaaand down comes the water anchor.
It was fun to see Erik's face while he walked under the HUGE alcove for the first time.
